I was supposed to go to a fairly fancy New Year’s eve party. Party gowns and heels requested. (I even bought new makeup and looked up hairstyles to try; plus I shaved my legs and plucked my eyebrows.) Then the party got cancelled due to health. Understandable, but dang I wouldn’t have shaved and plucked had I known! Anyway, I ended up getting a migraine at work. I was arguing with myself of how bad it was, and whether I could still just go hang out with my daughter and yet to be born grandson, when I walked in the door. My youngest took one look at me and said “You look terrible!” Gee - maybe I shouldn’t go. She looked sheepish and admitted that she was running a fever and wasn’t feeling very good herself. So I put on my pajamas, and went to bed at 6:30 pm on New Year’s Eve. (That is just wrong!) Turned out OK. I got the extra rest I needed- and was home to stop someone from breaking into my neighbors house. I feel marginally better this first day of the new year. Unfortunately, I also had a soda. (Something in the Dr. Pepper helps my get over this type of migraine faster.) So first day of the new year and I’ve already had grain. Ah well…there is always tommorrow!
